LOCAL SPOTS TO CHECK OUT

Philadelphia Traction Company

This is a studio and art center in West Philly.
Anyone heard of it?
It's a group of guys from PAFA that all make big, big work, and do it professionally.
I want to go check it out. It's seems really inspiring.
There's a show up now of Joe Boruchow's that seems pretty sweet. His work is like Tim (he's my boyfriend, Megan, in case youre confused) on crack. He's been around forever, and I think he works at Tattooed Mom's.
Also, the crumbled gasoline tank guy is a member here too!
I found this interview with him on the artblog talking about the space and his newest piece (made from a real airplane).
Check er out.

LOCAL SPOTS TO CHECK OUT

The Center For Emerging Visual Artists

This place is right in center city.
I just stumbled across it, and it seems pretty cool.
There's some submission opportunities on there and I'm pretty sure most of it's free.
We should all apply to be members. That's free and it wouldn't hurt!
